Late drive stalls as Bullard falls to Frontier




























BAKERSFIELD, CA - Down one score, the No. 6 Knights had the ball for a potential game-tying touchdown drive, but were unable to convert on 4th down and host No. 3 Frontier ran the clock out for a 21-14 victory in the first round of the CIF Central Section Division 1A playoffs Friday night.


Senior Devon Laney scored a rushing touchdown and added 14 yards on the ground and senior Tyler Franklin threw a 62-yard touchdown to junior Tyrin Pree. Franklin finished with 229 yards through the air. Pree finished with 75 yards receiving and sophomore Tomas Dixon added 48 yards through the air.


Junior Austin Ladd had an interception on Frontier's first drive of the game and nine tackles. Asher Armstrong had nine tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. Sophomore Jayden King added six tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack, but Bullard was unable to stop the Titans' final drive as they committed a personal foul penalty and gave up a fourth down conversion.


Next week, Frontier will host No. 7 Centennial, who upset No. 2 Buchanan 20-7 Friday night. Bullard will open up the 2025 season at home vs. Golden Valley.
